Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I have to be over 18?
Yes it’s over 18’s only there is no such thing as parental consent, if you look under 21 you will be asked for photo I.D.
NO I.D NO TATTOO.
- How much will it cost?
It depends on the size and details, prices start at £15 for something small.
- Does it cost more for different parts of the body?
In some studios there is a charge for the tattoo on different parts of the body here at jesters ink we do not charge you for this so it’s the same price weather its on your foot, back, arm or leg.
- Does it hurt?
It is different for everybody; most people say it is bearable pain. If you think the pain is going to be too much we can apply numbing cream at an extra cost.
- Can the design be changed if it’s the wrong size or colour?
Most designs can be altered to suit you. If there is a lot of detail it’s not a good idea to make it smaller as you may loose a lot of the detail in the design.
Aftercare
A tattoo is a big commitment and is on you for life so you want it to look at its best. Aftercare is critical and will affect how your tattoo heals, follow the guide lines and your tattoo should heal fine.
- Remove dressing after 1 hour
- Wash it carefully with lukewarm soapy water using your fingers not a cloth
- Rinse it with cold water
- Then pat it dry with a clean towel
- Gently apply the aftercare
- Apply the aftercare twice a day
- After a day or two the tattoo will start to form a scab, let the scab fall of naturally and do not pick the tattoo
- After the scab has fallen off (normally within 10 to 14 days) you may be left with dry skin, just apply a moisturizer or keep using your antiseptic cream on the tattooed area
- Do not over apply the aftercare
- Do not use Vaseline or petroleum based products
- Do not recover your tattoo unless working in a dusty/dirty environment
- Do not pick the scabs
- Do not use sun beds or sauna’s
- Do not go swimming or soak the tattoo in the bath until it has fully healed
- Try to avoid letting your shoes/cloths rub against the scab
